Hall effect sensor
Sensor technology / hall sensor
A Hall effect sensor is used to measure the speed, angle of rotation and position of moving parts such as motors, generators and wheels.
- Electric motors/generators
- Fuel engines
- Wheels and other rotating parts
- Measurement of linear movements
With magnetic encoders, the speed, angle and position are measured by contactless scanning of a magnetised part (pole wheel, rod, etc.) using a magnetoresistive sensor. This generates the angle-dependent analogue signals, which are fed to the downstream electronics for further processing.
- Fully electronic, wear-free
- Miniaturised design
- No moving parts
- Largely independent of ambient temperature and pressure
